FurnishU is a free peer-to-peer marketplace built for college students. When you move out of a dorm or finish a lease, instead of throwing away your stuff, you can list it here for another student to claim — for free or at a low price. No shipping, no strangers from the internet. Just students helping students on the same campus.
Any student or faculty member with a valid .edu email can sign up. FurnishU is not affiliated with any specific university — it works wherever students are.

How it works

Sign Up
Create a free account with your .edu email. Any college or university qualifies. No credit card needed.

Post a Listing
Add a photo, description, price (or mark it free), and your campus building so the buyer knows where to pick it up.

Claim & Pick Up
Browse listings and claim what you need. The owner confirms and arranges a convenient on-campus pickup.

Common questions
Is FurnishU free to use?
Yes — the platform is always free. Sellers set their own prices, and many items are listed for $0. FurnishU never charges a fee or commission.
Who can sign up?
Any student or faculty member with a valid .edu email address. FurnishU is not limited to any single school — it's open to all colleges and universities.
I don't go to a specific school — can I still use it?
If you have a .edu email, you're in. Community college, state university, private college — it all works.
How does payment work?
FurnishU does not process payments. For paid items, buyers and sellers arrange payment directly at pickup — cash, Venmo, Zelle, etc. We recommend meeting in a public campus location.
What if an item is already taken?
Sellers mark items as Pending or Claimed once they've arranged a pickup. If something you want shows as Pending, reach out anyway — deals sometimes fall through.
Is FurnishU affiliated with any university?
No. FurnishU is an independent platform and is not officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any college or university.
